Datum Charter 7.3m Boat

Our boat, skipper, what we can offer and lots of other useful information

YOUR CHARTER, NOT OURS

We love being at sea, but never forget that this is your charter. We'll go to great lengths to tailor it to your requirements, or you can leave it up to us.

There are so many great things to see and do within a few miles of our base, you'll soon realise that time goes by just too quickly!

THINGS TO SEE AND DO

Our base is close to Southampton Docks and that alone opens up a number of unique experiences. If you are lucky, one of the great passenger liners such as the brand new Queen Victoria, Queen Mary II, Queen Elizabeth II, Aurora or Oriana may be in port (we can advise in advance if this is likely) for a close inspection. We may even be able to follow it down part of Southampton Water for a truly memorable occasion.

At Calshot, home of one of Henry VIIIs Solent Castles we have the choice of continuing into the Solent or visiting the beautiful Hamble River, said to contain 2 billion pounds worth of pleasure boats!

Once in the Solent it is a short hop across to the International Home of Yachting at Cowes, to a peaceful bay off the Isle of Wight below Osborne House (maybe for a bit of swimming from the boat) or West towards the River Beaulieu (and up to Bucklers Hard), Newtown River, Lymington, Yarmouth or the spectacular Alum Bay and Needles Lighthouse. Several venues give us an ideal opportunity to anchor for a while for a drink, or simply to soak in the sights and sun.

Some destinations are weather and/or tide dependent but whatever the conditions there is always plenty to see and do.

OUR BOAT

Our 7.3m boat is inboard diesel powered and capable of speeds of 25 knots. A full range of safety equipment is carried, including automatic lifejackets, liferings, rescue line, VHF radio, GPS satellite navigation and full fire extinguishing systems.

Although it is more exciting to travel in the open cockpit area, standing or seated, there is plenty of covered seating 'down-under' if the weather is unkind, as well as a private flush toilet, hot and cold washbasin, and fridge. The boat is fully insured for public charter (4 passengers) and licensed by the New Forest District Council.
